Companies in the food and feed chain have a typical and special responsibility. They ensure that consumers satisfy their daily needs for sound, safe and tasty food. And although the food quality in the base country (the Netherlands) is at a very high level, it appears consumer confidence is extremely fragile to be as is everywhere. Very surprising is that also not, no one can ignore - good nutrition is a basic necessity of life and unsafe foods have a direct impact on daily life. In addition, today's consumers are increasingly dependent on products produced and delivered by food processing companies. Ensuring the safety and quality of products is an absolute must and a critical success factor in the industry. A well established and transparent quality management system is therefore essential. Précon understands better than anyone that a quality control system stands or falls with its practical application.
A good quality management system sheds it's fruit at different levels. First, it ensures that the risks to the quality and safety of your products are reduced. By making procedures and instructions the applied methods and arrangements become clear and this leads to fewer errors and lower costs. In case of emergencies - such as a recall - the quality system will ensure that you and your staff are prepared to take action. In addition, the system ensures that you will be well prepared when your company is held accountable by customers and by the public.
Knowledge and experience
Précon participated in the development of food safety systems from the outset - from the first legal HACCP requirement in 1995 to the latest European regulations on such items as food packaging materials and microbiology.
We closely follow the developments around legislation and certification standards - from the "Assessment Criteria for HACCP" in 1996 until and including the latest versions of BRC, IFS and ISO 22000. We maintain direct contacts with the Food Safety Authorities and with the standardization bodies, for example through our participation in the ISO 22000 working group of ISO.
